Bob is a nationally recognized expert in affordable, green and healthy housing with more than 25 years of experience working at the highest levels of housing finance and public policy.

Most recently Bob served as Vice President and Head of the Multifamily Green and Affordable Housing Business at Fannie Mae where he led the creation of Fannie Mae’s green and healthy housing initiatives and helped develop innovative new approaches to financing that enabled Fannie Mae to become the leading provider of affordable multifamily debt in the country and the largest issuer of green bonds in the world.

Over his 20 year career at Fannie Mae, Bob held a wide range of senior leadership positions across the multifamily business in the Conventional, Structured Finance, Small Loans, and Seniors housing business lines and served as a member of the company’s Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) steering committee.

Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Bob worked for six and a half years as a Special Assistant and Senior Legislative Aide to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle.

Bob is a frequent speaker at housing industry conferences and is regularly quoted in national media and trade magazines. He is the author and co-author of several op-eds and publications focusing on the business and social impact of affordable housing in the commercial residential real estate industry.

Bob sits on the Board of Directors for the Center for Active Design and is a member of the Stewards of Affordable Housing’s CORES Advisory Committee.  He is the former national chairperson of the Urban Land Institute’s Affordable Workforce Housing Council and a founding member of the Falls Jazz Collective. He also serves as a pro-bono coach for the Housing Innovation Lab at the University of California-Berkeley and is a senior advisor to a select number of early-stage housing technology firms, including Esusu, Pronto Housing, and WYL.

Through over a decade of designing, implementing, evaluating, and communicating impact programs across the financial return spectrum, Rachel Mavrothalasitis has honed her expertise as an impact investor and tactician focused on the U.S. housing market.

From 2018 to 2023, Rachel served as Director of Impact for Turner Impact Capital, a private equity, real estate firm dedicated to delivering socially enriching health, education, and housing infrastructure nationwide. There, she oversaw impact measurement and management for the firm, with dedicated attention to the suite of onsite resident services, such as health, safety, and credit building programs, offered to over 55,000 multifamily tenants. This work also included impact target setting, data pipeline and key performance indicator design, stakeholder engagement, policy creation, and investor and external reporting, including to third-party frameworks such as GRESB.

Prior to her work at Turner Impact Capital, Rachel worked in crisis intervention, first with young children in the foster care system, and later as Director of Housing Advocacy for a low-barrier, trauma-informed service center for young people experiencing houselessness and housing insecurity. There, she oversaw youth advocacy, the rollout of the west Los Angeles Coordinated Entry System, and the design and delivery of all housing programs and partnerships, including a supportive housing program for parenting youth and LA’s first Host Homes program.

Seeing the opportunity to leverage this range of direct service and administrative experiences to support emerging and reorienting impact funds and housing operators define their ESG and impact processes, Rachel launched Reach&Root Partners, LLC, in 2023, a consulting and advisory services firm. Since, she has been inspired by her clients’ creativity and commitment, and honored to drive strategy articulation, partnership development, and governance and data design on their behalf. Rachel is thrilled to be joining the Multifamily Impact Council for a focused engagement to advance the Multifamily Impact Framework^TM and propel membership, furthering MIC’s meaningful contributions to the industry and ultimately elevating the experience of multifamily households broadly.

Rachel graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley with Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Public Health and a concentration on maternal and child wellbeing, and with honors from the University of Southern California, earning a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Social Work. Rachel sits on the Impact Capital Managers Talent and Diversity Working Group, NCREIF ESG Committee, and Pension Real Estate Association’s Social Impact Committee, which recently published the “What Is the S in ESG? A Guide for Real Estate Investors” to which Rachel was an active contributor. Rachel is a proud San Diegan, parent, and yogi and enjoys finding common ground to deliver outstanding results.

Thom serves as the Senior Vice President for Policy & Impact at Lincoln Avenue Capital. He is responsible for leading Lincoln Avenue Capital’s public affairs, state and federal policy advocacy as well as impact initiatives.

Thom is a nationally recognized leader in affordable housing and community development policy. He serves on the board of the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition and is the Executive Director of Fairview Housing Partners, a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to quality, affordable homes around the country.  Prior to joining Lincoln Avenue Capital, he served as President of the National Housing & Rehabilitation Association (NH&RA), where he received the NHP Foundation’s Affordable Housing Advocacy Award in 2018.

Thom contributes to numerous community development organizations and has been published in a variety of industry journals including Tax Credit Advisor, Independent Banker, and the Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits. He was previously employed at a national lobbying firm focused on financial services and technology issues. Before moving to Washington, he worked in media relations in the New York State Assembly and as an assistant for New Hampshire Governor Jeanne Shaheen. Thom graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tufts University with a double major in Political Science and History.

Summer Haltli leads FCP’s impact investing strategy in multifamily housing with a focus on housing affordability and resident services.  Since joining FCP in 2010, Summer has developed and implemented business plans for over 7,000 multifamily units and mixed-use projects totaling over $1.5 billion of value. She successfully executed over $1 billion in disposition and refinancing transactions while leading FCP’s ESG efforts.  Summer founded FCP’s Sustainability, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and FCP SERVES committees.

Summer serves as Vice Chair of the Multifamily Impact Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to establishing and maintaining  multifamily impact investing principals.  She serves as an Advisory Board member for University of Virginia Center for Real Estate and the Kayo Women in Real Estate Summit.  Summer is a member of the Urban Land Institute Greenprint Center for Building Performance and the National Multifamily Housing Conference and is a Board Member Emeritus for City Kids Wilderness Project.

Summer received her MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and her BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia.  Prior work experience includes portfolio management at Bentall Kennedy and underwriting over $1 billion in office investment sales transactions at Jones Lang LaSalle.

Antonio Marquez serves as Principal and Managing Partner of Comunidad Partners. He is chairman of the firm’s Investment Committee. He is responsible for strategic planning, culture building and capital raising.

Antonio founded Comunidad Partners in honor of his family’s immigrant heritage to provide improved opportunities and a better life for people who live in communities that the company serves.

He has been involved in multifamily real estate transactions working or partnering with a number of firms, namely Nuveen, Carlyle, GE Capital, Prudential, Hines and Singerman.

Marquez serves on the National Multifamily Housing Council (“NMHC”) as Chair of the Workforce Housing Committee and a member of the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee. He is founder and co-chairman of Veritas Impact Partners, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission of improving social impact and creating positive outcomes for residents living in affordable and workforce housing communities. Antonio is also Chairman of the board of Multifamily Impact Council, a non-profit membership organization dedicated to establishing impact investing principles and data-driven impact reporting frameworks for the multifamily housing industry. He is a founding board member of Real Estate Association for Latinx professionals (REAL), a nonprofit organization focused on the professional advancement and equity of Latinx commercial real estate professionals.

Amanda Nunnink is co-head of the Impact Housing team at KA Real Estate. She is responsible for sourcing, analysis, underwriting and execution of investment strategies and works with joint venture partners to oversee day-to-day management of KA Real Estate’s multifamily housing impact investments.

Nunnink has 20 years of experience in commercial real estate. Prior to joining Kayne Anderson in 2021, she spent 10 years at Freddie Mac, holding leadership positions across multiple business lines. Most recently, she led a team dedicated to Equity in Multifamily Housing, tasked with creating loan and structured products to generate sustainable improvements for renters and the rental housing industry. In her time at Freddie Mac, she was also head of Freddie Mac’s Multifamily Investor Relations team, responsible for supporting the sale of $75B in structured securities annually and managing strategy and communications for over 400 unique investors. Her experience at the firm also included loan production and structuring on a national level, managing a team that contributed $15B in annual production volume. Prior to joining Freddie Mac, she held various production roles for banks and investment groups. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Case Western Reserve University.

Sharon Dworkin Bell is a co-founder of Dworbell, Inc., a company that manages the National Housing & Rehabilitation Associaton and National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association and publishes Tax Credit Advisor magazine.

She is the executive director of the Council of Large Affordable Housing Owners. In addition, Sharon serves on the Affordable Housing Advisory Council of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, the Advisory Board for Greenline Ventures, and is a member of the Trust for Community Housing board of directors based in Telluride, CO.

Sharon is president of the David Reznick Foundation, established to honor the memory of a much beloved and respected leader of the affordable housing industry. She was previously senior vice president of multifamily and 55+ housing at the National Association of Home Builders.

Michelle Boyd is the chief strategy officer for Terner Labs. She leads strategic planning, new program development, and fundraising across Terner Labs’ programs in this role. She started with Terner in 2018, leading the design and launch of the Housing Lab program while pursuing her Master of Business Administration at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Under her leadership, the Housing Lab supported two cohorts of early-stage ventures that have gone on to raise over $340 million in additional funding, secure significant government partnerships, and provide housing or increased financial security to over 27,000 people.

Michelle brings a decade of experience in community and startup finance, organizational strategy and design, and urban policy research. Before joining Terner, Michelle worked as a strategy consultant for the Bridgespan Group, collaborating with nonprofits, social entrepreneurs, and foundation leaders across community development, housing, and education issues. She also worked with a housing social impact startup, Landed, developing the organization’s impact metrics and fundraising strategy. Michelle holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business, an Interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in Real Estate from UC Berkeley, and a BA in Public Policy from the University of Chicago.

Michelle also serves as an advisor to various coalitions dedicated to housing innovation and impact investing. These include the Community Investment Guarantee Pool (CIGP), the Multifamily Impact Council, and the Advanced Building Construction Collaborative.

Emily Cadik is the chief executive officer of the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC). She leads advocacy to support affordable rental housing financed using the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC). Before joining AHTCC, she was a senior director of public policy at Enterprise Community Partners. Emily led policy and advocacy related to LIHTC and other affordable housing and community development issues. While at Enterprise, she served on AHTCC’s board, chairing the legislative committee, co-chairing the marketing committee, and serving on the executive committee. Emily also helped lead the A Call To Invest in Our Neighborhoods Campaign, a nationwide coalition of more than 2,000 organizations and businesses advocating on behalf of LIHTC. She remains active in this national advocacy effort.

In 2017, Emily received the NHP Foundation’s inaugural Advocacy Award, and in 2016 she was named one of Affordable Housing Finance’s Young Leaders.

Before joining Enterprise, Emily served as a Presidential management fellow at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. While there, she served as a program coordinator for Moving to Work and in the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. She earned a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

Kenny Emson is the chief operating officer of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC). Kenny is responsible for NMHC’s internal operations and finance functions, including accounting, NMHC meetings, membership, human resources, information systems, and office management.

Before joining NMHC, Kenny served as chief development officer, senior vice president, and chief financial officer for The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region. During his time there, Kenny helped the foundation grow from $50 million in assets to $350 million and saw the staff grow from ten to 26. Kenny is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from The George Washington University.

Ryan Johnson is VP of Finance and Capital Markets for the Community Housing Opportunities Corporation (CHOC). Johnson has a real estate capital formation background, having raised over $2 billion on behalf of Whitehall Capital, Pacific Mutual Investment Company, and Local Initiative Support Corporation’s Strategic Investments, respectively. He has directed over $70 billion in multifamily development and acquisitions.

Johnson has also issued over $90 million in 501C3 bonds to create and preserve attainable housing across the Carolinas. Before he arrived at CHOC, Ryan was Vice President of Capital Markets & Real Estate for the Greenville Housing Fund.

Sharif T. Mitchell is co-founder and CEO of Northern Liberties, a real estate investment firm. Mitchell is an accomplished real estate owner, operator, and strategist who uses social impact investing in changing communities, driving the process of responsibly and intentionally deploying institutional capital. Mitchell’s work in acquisitions and investment management across the country has resulted in over $390M in investments. Mitchell launched Dantes Community Partners (DCP) in 2015. As Principal and Operating Partner of DCP, Mitchell assisted in directing the overall strategy of the investment management business to grow its assets under management. He was primarily responsible for deal sourcing, capital raising, deal structuring, and implementing the business plan for each acquisition. Preceding DCP, Mitchell was an Executive Director in the Commercial Term Lending Group at JP Morgan Chase.

Mitchell is a member of the Real Estate Executive Council (REEC), Urban Land Institute (ULI), NYC Housing Council, and the National Multifamily Housing Council (NHMC). He also volunteers his time with Project REAP, an organization assisting minority professionals in transitioning into careers in commercial real estate.

Andrea Ponsor is the president and CEO of Stewards of Affordable Housing for the Future (SAHF). In this role, Andrea works to identify, develop and advocate for key strategic issues of concern to SAHF and its members, create a level playing field for effective, mission-oriented nonprofit businesses and amplify SAHF’s impact to create more sustainable properties and communities, and improve the lives of residents. Andrea joined SAHF in 2016 as Executive Vice President of Policy, with 15 years of experience in housing and community development.

Before joining SAHF, Andrea served as the federal policy director for Local Initiatives Support Corporation, where she led housing policy efforts. Previously she was a principal at Hessel, Aluise and O’Leary, P.C., a boutique law firm with a national affordable housing practice. Andrea represented lenders, developers and management agents in affordable housing transactions and policy matters.

Andrea began her career as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Atlanta, Ga., where she focused on multifamily mortgage closings, property disposition, program enforcement, and fair housing. Andrea holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law and a bachelor’s in economics from Tulane University.

David Richmond serves as the Director of Product Strategy for the Global Impact Investing Network’s (GIIN) IRIS+ and IMM team, managing the evolution of a sustainable, outcomes-focused infrastructure for impact data across the industry through deep engagement with key partners and stakeholders.

David’s diverse activities before joining the GIIN included marketing and product roles for several B2B SaaS ventures, technical writing, and copyediting for a range of clients in the impact investing industry and elsewhere, and a five-year effort to build a small social enterprise in Kenya to manufacture bassoon reeds, which built on a decade of experience as a professional orchestral bassoonist in Boston and Southwest Florida.

David holds a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Harvard College with Highest Honors in Music and a Master of Music in Bassoon Performance from the Rice University Shepherd School of Music.

Katelynn Harris Walker is the associate director for affordable housing initiatives at the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). Katelynn manages MBA’s Affordable Rental Housing Advisory Council and leads MBA’s affordable rental housing strategy for policies, programs, and practices. Before joining MBA, Katelynn was the policy director for the National Association of County Community and Economic Development (NACCED) and the National Association for Local Housing Finance Agencies (NALHFA), where she managed the lobbying and advocacy efforts for both organizations.

Before NALHFA and NACCED, Katelynn was the legislative and policy coordinator for the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCHSA), where she focused on multifamily tax issues. Before NCSHA, Katelynn interned with the policy and research department at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition.

Katelynn holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master of arts degree in American government from Appalachian State University. She’s also earned professional certificates in nonprofit management and systems thinking.

Stockton Williams is the executive director of the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA). He’s been in this role since 2018. Stockton previously served as executive director of the Terwilliger Center for Housing at the Urban Land Institute and managing principal of HR&A Advisors’ Washington, D.C., office.

Stockton previously served as a senior advisor in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Energy. He has also held senior leadership positions at Enterprise Community Partners, Living Cities, and with an affordable housing developer.

Greg MacKinnon is the Director of Research for the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), a non-profit trade association for the global institutional real estate industry, a position he has held since 2009. His role includes providing the industry with information, research, and thought leadership on real estate investment issues. Prior to joining PREA, Greg was professor of finance at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Canada. His research on real estate investment has been published in the top academic journals, he writes extensively in industry publications, frequently speaks at industry events, and has been widely quoted in the media. Greg has been named a Fellow of the Homer Hoyt Institute, a Fellow of the Real Estate Research Institute, is co-editor of the bi-annual special real estate issue of The Journal of Portfolio Management, and was previously co-editor of the Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management. He sits on the Board of the Real Estate Research Institute and is a past Board member of the Atlantic Canada CFA Society. Greg holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Alberta and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

Nick Ogden is the Founder and CEO of The Clear Blue Company (CBC), a Nashville-based private equity real estate firm. CBC manages over $850 million in assets and oversees 6,067 units across 16 markets in the Southeastern United States.

CBC’s primary focus is on addressing the affordable housing crisis while delivering attractive returns to investors and promoting upward mobility for its residents. Nick is a strong advocate for increasing the supply of workforce housing as the key solution to this issue. CBC is tackling this challenge at a regional level through two main strategies: preserving existing workforce housing and developing new units. The long-term goal is to use their expertise and regional influence to impact national housing policy that will increase supply.

Nick’s connection to Nashville began in 2003 when he moved to the city to attend Vanderbilt University, where he later met his wife. Currently residing in East Nashville with his wife and three children, he actively engages with the community as a Board member of Nashville Classical Charter School and the East End Neighborhood Association.

Beyond his role at CBC, Nick is an engaged entrepreneur. He is an active participant in the Entrepreneurs Organization and serves as a mentor through the Nashville Entrepreneur Center and Urban League’s Red Academy. His commitment to addressing housing issues and fostering community development reflects his deep ties to Nashville and his dedication to creating positive change.

Kelley is the Director of Investments for the Foundation and L&L Management, the Levine family office. Kelley joined the Foundation and Levine family office in 2024 as their first Director of Investments. He brings fifteen years of experience as an institutional investor and allocator. He spent the first decade of his career at Cambridge Associates managing impact investing portfolios for some of the country’s largest foundations, family offices, and religious institutions. More recently, he helped lead an impact-focused fintech startup. Prior to his investment career, Kelley worked as an educator and college minister. He holds a B.A. In Religious Studies from the University of Virginia, an M.A.R. from Yale Divinity School, and is a CFA charter holder. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have two children.
